Style Diary | Falling into Autumn

Don’t get me wrong, I love summer but I’m so ready for autumn. There’s no pressure to go out and make the most of the long days like there is during the summer. Instead it’s perfectly acceptable to spend the dark, drizzly evenings snuggled up with a good book. Also, the drop in temperature means I can live in cosy jumpers again!

I always have that Back to School feeling in September and even though there are only a few months of the year left, I see it as a time to get organised and a have a bit of a fresh start. Whether it was starting my A Levels or a new year at Uni, I’m used to knuckling down and working hard in September. It didn’t always last into October but I had the best intentions!

Due to a number of reasons, I spent most of the summer feeling quite lost and unsure of where I was headed. A few things in my life were uncertain and frustratingly out of my control, so I didn’t feel able to make any plans, but now I have a bit more security, I want to find focus and be more productive.

It sounds silly but one way I find it helps to feel organised is by sorting out and revamping my wardrobe. Again, I guess it’s like buying uniform for a new year at school. I was very uninspired by trends on the high street this summer but now I’ve seen so many things I like for AW17 and I want it all!

These trousers from Urban Outfitters are the epitome of autumn. A dark rust/coppery colour, they blend in with the fallen leaves.  They have a relaxed fit, wide leg and high draw-string waist, which make them ideal for wearing in autumn before it gets too cold. Soft and silky against the skin, they are very comfy and I’m sure they’ll become a staple item this autumn.

I’m going to have a sort out of my wardrobe this weekend and I’m weirdly excited about it!  How do you like to get organised in autumn? Let me know in the comments below.
