My sister Chloe and her boyfriend recently moved from North London to Richmond, which I’m very happy about as it means she is now really near me and I can see her more often. She’s even bought me cat pajamas to keep at hers for when I stay (best sister ever!) To celebrate moving into her new flat I decided to make her a house-warming present.
I thought that my new key looked lonely so I decided to make it a friend in the form of a felt keyring. I hadn’t done any sewing for ages and this is a really fun little project to ease yourself back into making things. I find sewing rather therapeutic. It’s a great way to spend cold, dark evenings and beat the January blues. Here’s how you can make your own friendly felt keyring.
Having Scottish blood myself, I’ve always wanted to celebrate Hogmanay in Scotland and that’s where I was lucky enough to welcome in 2015. As soon as I was invited to spend New Year’s Eve in Scotland, I was on the hunt for the perfect party dress. However, I really struggled to find anything on the high street that felt special enough and high quality without being overpriced. Instead, I waited until I went home to Somerset for Christmas and hit the independent shops in Frome.
